Ballyseedy, Cork opened its doors in June 2011 in Fota Retail Park, Carrigtwohill, Cork. Close to the popular tourist attraction Fota Wildlife Park, Fota House and adjacent to the wonderful Fota Resort & Golf Club which was host to the Irish Open in 2014. The Retail & Business park was completed in 2007 on the site of the Old Youghal Carpets factory. The large site is known locally as ‘Cobh Cross’. At its peak Youghal Carpets employed almost 3,600 people and exported luxury rugs & carpets all over the world. It is now a bustling Retail & Business park in East Cork located only 5min from the Jack Lynch Tunnel.

The park has developed considerably since Ballyseedy has arrived with new tenants opening and the park becoming a hive of activity. With a focus on the Home, Garden & Leisure sector we have been able to carve out a niche market within East Cork and its surrounds. Just off the busy N25 Dual Carriageway and with easy access and great parking it has quickly become a destination for the people of Cork and Munster to visit.

The park is now home to Go Safari kids Play Centre, Top Drawer home furnishings, Cash & Carry Kitchens, Bella Baby, Town & Country bathrooms & Richardson’s Tile Centre. Within the Garden Centre the building houses Meadows & Byrne, Blarney Woollen Mills, Bakestone Café-Deli-Bakery & Steeltech Sheds. Comprising of 26,000 sq ft the large glass structure was originally built for an upmarket car showroom.

In 2010 the park owners decided to shift their focus and introduce a retail operation to the building. A Home & Garden Centre was an ideal fit with its high glass walls and large floor space it was almost like it was purpose build for such an offering. After travelling the country & further afield the developers agreed that the Ballyseedy model in Kerry operated by Bernie & Nathan was the way forward. After many a meeting and lots of journeys between Kerry & Cork it was decided that Ballyseedy would branch out and open their 2nd store in conjunction with the park owners. The store has now been transformed into a beautiful shop with stunning gifts, fabulous food and a Garden Centre that is now regarded as one of the best in Ireland. Even though we are only here a few short years it feels like we’ve been here for decades! Ballyseedy is blooming in it’s new home and we look forward to the next chapter in our journey..
